North-East EMS is an active rural Advanced Care Paramedic service with an
annual call-volume of approximately 1500. Our population base is over 15000,
with 5200 in the town of Nipawin, and our coverage area is geographically the
largest in the province. The EMS fleet consists of two Supervisor/First Response
units (one car and one 4x4 truck) and six newer Modular units (one 2006 and
one new 2007). We currently have a staff of seven ACPs, five ICPs and thirteen
PCPs. Many of our employees have more than a decade of experience; this provides
new EMS providers with the opportunity to learn and be mentored by seasoned
veterans. Cardiac monitors are LP12s and LP10s. We run our crews out of two
bases; one in Carrot River and one in our base and office complex in Nipawin.
The Nipawin base has a roomy five-bay garage, modern staff quarters, shower
facilities, training room with computer and Internet, and administration offices.
The Carrot River base has a brand new expansion to better facilitate response
from that part of our district. We also provide EMS coverage at the Fort a la
Corne Diamond Site near Nipawin. Wages closely follow the current HSAS pay schedule.
Nipawin and area offer many recreational opportunities such as hockey, curling,
fishing, hunting, boating, camping, hiking, skiing, softball, snowmobiling,
and golfing.
Please send your resume, including references, certificates and education
transcripts, in confidence to
Mark Ollinger,
Operations Manager, by email, or by fax to the above number.
Late submissions received will be kept on file for the next hiring.
